There are three habitable planets in this Victorian universe, Earth, Mars, and Venus. In this universe science has discovered new technologies such as R-Matter and electricity. Aeronefs, giant and small flying ships, sail the skies and Aerostats ferry men and material through space. In this universe empires struggle for control of land, people, and resources both on Earth and other planets. Occasionally these empires will come together to defeat native Martians and Venusians who pose a threat to their goals. Imagination and invention flourish as clockwork machinations walk the streets sweeping and building, automated machines hammer steel while steam escapes into the skies. An urban humanity has spread across the world faster than ever and agriculture works ever faster to feed them with the help of steam powered tractors and new fertilizers that grow bigger and better crops. This is the world of 1889, and who knows what 1890 will hold?

Known Martian Races Zefyr Martians These martians are very similar to African and Aboriginal tribes. They live in tribes independent of eachother and all share the same surname Zef'a'zyr. Their religion is based around the sky god, Kulimak, who led the tribes out of the dessert wastes and into the jungles. There they now live in the tree tops and hunt with bows and spear fashioned from sturdy Martian trees and use crude and impure iron which is sought after. The Zefyr stand at around 5 feet tall and have a green skin with sploches of brown and black. They are humanoid but have lanky arms and legs making them capable of effortlessly swinging and climbing trees. Nautaton Martians The Nautatons have small tusks in their bottom jaw and stand around 8 feet tall. Their brute strength and ferocity make them dangerous enemies and trusted allies. They are humanoid but have webbed toes and amphibian ears. They inhabit many of the shores on Mars and are skilled fishermen. They are identified by their blue skin which also makes them almost impossible to see when they are under water. Ror Martians The Ror are a hostile race of humanoid martians who have established civilizations and cities resembling ancient Babylon. They are warlike and believe their dark red skin comes from the blood in the sand they are born in. They are at constant war with the empires of Earth but often fight civil wars between themselves. They are also one of the few races that have managed to fashion muskets on Mars before the arrival of Humans. Kilmorii The Kilmorii live in small nomadic tribes moving about the desert with a speed matched only by the swiftest Aeronefs. Their tan and rough skin blends with the sand and protects them from the dust storms. Learning to live in such a inhospitable place has forced them to be crafty and diplomatic. Each tribe has a small warrior caste but they mainly rely on trade and words.
