The rustic smell of the Ona River lingered in the air of the village. Stone and wood houses are scattered along the river. Blue and green Martians work their daily duties along the river and at their stalls as a ceremony proceeds through the dusty roads. A column of Martian males are led by ornately dressed priests who splash water ahead of the men. Today is the Ona'Craw, the River Trial. The men are led to pit in outside the village. Surrounding it are stone markers, each one representing a Nautaton who failed the test and is forced to sleep in the ground. The lead priest steps forward to the group of men and waves his hand in a circle, the men move to encircle him and all listen intently. He is dressed in fish scales and his jewelry is made from bones of every type of fish.
"Today young ones, you will be tested by the river to determine your manhood. Each one of you will dive into the bottomless lake and must bring back a Black Serpent head, this represents the first warrior, the greatest warrior, slaying the giant Black Serpent to save the Nautatons." The warriors begin to shake and jump, making their blood rush through their body. "Who will be the first to dive?" Asks the priest.

A young male standing at 8.5 feet pushed his way to the front, he was bigger than the rest both in height and width "What is your name?" asked the Priest "Molavard" The young male replied in a deep harsh voice and quickly dived in.
Molavard swam down what felt like miles until he felt something wrap around his legs, he looked back to see a Giant Black Serpent with it's mouth open ready to take his head off
As the Serpent snapped down Molavard pulled his head back and wrapped his arms around the scaly Serpents neck, it's scales were sharp and cut into his skin causing him to bleed and wince in pain, then his hands found a Quill made of bone just behind it's head to protect it's neck
Creature Attacks: FAIL Molavard Attacks: SUCCESS 20 Damage
Molavard gripped this quill and pulled hard, the Serpent writhed and squirmed making the cuts even deeper but Molavard pulled again in a hard jerking motion, then again and again, then suddenly he felt the giant Serpent go limp
Creature Attacks: SUCCESS 8 Damage Molavard Attacks: SUCCESS 20 Damage Creature Attacks: FAIL Molavard Attacks: SUCCESS 20 Damage
Molavard had broken it's neck, he continued pulling and finally ripped it's head off.
Realizing he was running out of air Molavard swam for the surface, after breaching the surface Molavard let out a bellowing roar that sent shivers down the spine of the unblooded still standing on the edge

Molavard climbed his way to the top with the Black fanged serpent head in hand. He tossed it before the priest and stood tall, his cuts showed proud and true. The priest showed a small smirk and broke off the largest fang of the serpent. He fashioned a cord around it as the crowd of unblooded Martians watched. When he was done the priest dipped the fang into a stone bowl filled with a bright blue liquid.
"With this fang I shall mark you chosen mighty warrior, you shall carry the mark of the First and the Greatest, and you shall lead our warriors into battle." He then traced each wound with this blue liquid and the wounds sealed shut and scarred in light blue lines. On his back he drew the circle with the I in it, this was the symbol of the first.
Vitality Check vs. Poison: SUCCESS
Molavard stood tall and strong as the symbols and scars were made. He was now chosen by the First himself. The throng of warriors began shouting and screaming in applause, hands were thrown in the air and the men did their war dance. From the crowd another man rushed forward and dived into the pit. A few moments later a blood curdling scream was heard from the Black Serpents, their call that signalled a meal.
"Remember young bloods, do not be blinded by war and rage, enter with a clear mind and never underestimate the enemy. This is why win." The priest reminded.
Hours later fifty of the two hundred males were now warriors and the ceremony ended. As the group of warriors left the sound of a massive explosion was heard and the skys shuttered. Over head one of the human flying ships came hurdling throught he sky with bright green flames spouting from all over it. The ship continued deep into the hills before crashing and exploding in a green fireball.
The priest looks towards the warriors, expecting an answer.
"Ready yourselve, the pale man comes." he said ominously.

The twenty warriors sat around a large, round, stone table inside the chiefs stone house. On it was carved every victory of teh Nautaton peoples. The surface was nearly filled but had room for a few more. Molavard sat across from the aging chief, though he was still built strong and solid, his face showed the lines of leadership and the gray hairs on his chin showed stressed of leading.
"We are at a pivotal point. The priests predict the coming of the pale men, the same as those who murdered our brothers to the south. We must choose to do battle with these men and lose everything, or we help these pale men and see them off. The priest predicts they will come in search of their flying ship. We must meet them with peace and assist them. Should they bring violence we will show them the Nautaton spear and chain, should they come peacefully we shall great them with baskets of fish. What say you chosen First?"

Molavard thought for a second and placed his stone flagon on the table and started to speak "I agree with the Chief, However no matter how peaceful they are I say we must not let them onto our sacred ground... But that is the great Chief's decision not mine"
Molavard bowed his head as a sign of respect to the Chief hoping he had not crossed a boundry

The Great Chief looked Molavard in the eyes and Molavard could tell his approval.
"The pale man shall not enter the sacred grounds nor shall the wash in the Ona. Molavard, my First among Firsts, you will be tested again. I require of you to fulfill a request from the Priest. He wishes to see farther than usual. This requires the leaf of the Xintha. As you know they grow to the south twoards the pale men. You must make haste so we can see what these pale men come to us as. Leave now and prepare your things. The armory is open to you and I grant you to wear the Scales as my First among First."
Molavard gains First Among First Scale Armor: Negates 1 to 12 damage.

Molavard put on the Scale Armour of the First and picked up the Ancient Sword of the First and put it on his back, he then picked up his Father's Mace and the Ball and Chain he made himself and headed out to where the Priest had sent him
Molavard was Very careful to avoid any tribes he saw along the way but he knew he would not be able to forever.

After several hours of following the south branch of the Ona River Molavard saw four red men standing near the plant he needed. He wasn't sure if this was supposed to be a test but he knew the Ror when he saw them. Their red skin was supposedly the blood of their enemies and brother since they were hatched unlike other Martians from eggs laid outside predators lairs. He couldn't observe to much detail from this distance but he could tell that two of them had long pikes.

Molavard decides to take a swim and slowly slips into the waters of the Ona undetected. Gracefully he swims with the gentle current, his scales look like pebbles and debris flowing with the water. He gets within twenty feet of the group before latching onto a rock on the bottom of the water and observes the group.
Observation: FAIL
He can clearly see two of them wield long pikes with shiny metal points while the other two have heavy crossbows loaded and thick swords in sheaths. He can tell they haven't noticed him but not much more.

Deciding to use his advantage of water Molavard chooses to drag at least one of the Ror into the water, determining that they are not as adapted to the water as him. He slowly makes his approach to the shore line where the closest one stands, leaning on his pike. None of his companions see Molavard reach out of the water as the large blue hand grabs the leg of the Ror.
Molavard Hand To Hand: SUCCESS
Molavard rips back with the startled Ror and claws onto the shore in vein as he is submerged into the water. Just before going under he lets out a roar that sends his three companions into action as they reach for him, trying to avoid the water. Molavard struggles with the Ror to keep him under the water until his small lungs are filled with air.
Ror Escape Attempt: FAIL Molavard Hand To Hand: SUCCESS
The Ror stops struggling after a moment and is lifeless. His body of hardened scales drags him to the river bed where he is carried off by the current. Molavard then realizes the other Ror have retreated farther back on land, refusing to go near the dangers of the water.
Initiative Order: 1. Molavard 2. Ror with Pike 3. Ror with Crossbow 4. Other Ror with Crossbow
Setup: Molavard is floating in the water. The three Ror are roughly 40 feet from the shore and the plant is about 20 feet from the shore. It is short and thin and does not count for cover.

Molavard swims down to the bottom and gabs the body of the Ror and pushes it up onto shore so he's half on shore but his legs are still in the water
he starts moving the body to make it look like it's still breathing to attract at least 1 more Ror

The Ror see that their friend is clearly lifeless and it seems as if something is flopping the body about. Nervous, the Ror with the Pike tries to circle around to see past the body while staying away from the water. Failing to see anything his friend with the crossbow moves around to the other side. Through a shear matter of luck he spots the Nautaton in the water as light reflects off a him brielfly. The Ror aims his crossbow while the other Ror with the crossbow readies himself.

The Ror loses sight of the Nautaton and dashes farth back. The three regroup now and draw back together. They are unnerved by the events unfolding before them, a rare feeling for the Ror. As Molavard waits he hears what sounds like a pale mans gunshot, its muffled by the water, but it does not appear aimed at him.
