As you are all well aware, the much-awaited Version 5 upgrade for the forum host has been postponed until the 28th of next month. I understand that this delay may cause some frustration, especially given that the pace of this forum will always be low with the few users it can gain by invitation only, and as such the admin team and I have decided to put it to you, the members of our (currently) humble forum, to decide what you want done. The choices: 1) Make a public announcement on JG revealing the existence and purpose of our forum to officially unveil it to the masses. We would, of course, have to briefly state that the current forum is not the final intended product. This would take place on the 1st of January, 2013 if selected. 2) Wait until the 28th of January to get the forum upgrade and the improved functionality it offers. This would involve a month's wait, but the company is offering means of speeding this process up ( see here), and this currently puts us at being able to convert on the 27th. Be sure to vote; every vote counts!

I guess I have to ask why wait? If the point is to offer members of JG a more mature content site then why does the upgrade matter?

Simple marketing: if the site is more difficult to use/of a lower quality to that which members are presently used to, the chances of them staying are lower; i.e distract them with shinies.

"distract them with shinies." I laughed so hard at that I fell off my chair

Also, and I forgot to mention this quite valid point earlier, it would probably be a bit jarring to have to go through a transition so soon after joining. We saw what happened with people being slightly bewildered by the JG makeover, and on top of that Version 5 requires you to change your current account to a new "global" one (a small hassle I know, but still a bit jarring if you've only just gotten used to your last account). Just things to consider.
